Abstract

The sect in the Islamic religion which is neutral and gives hope to people who commit major sins is called the Murji’ah sect. Murji’ah is a stream of Islamic theology that gives hope to people who commit major sins. The emergence of this sect was initially due to political problems and then became a theological problem. Murji’ah linguistically comes from the word Al-irja’ which means to end. Among other scholars, there are those who say that Murji’ah itself comes from the word Irja’ which means suspension. Murji’ah in terminology means a group that holds the opinion that a Muslim’s faith will not be affected if that person has committed a major sin. In this writing, we use the literature study method which is based on literature and comes from journals, books and other literature on the iternet.murji’ah thingking is misguided and wrong thingking, it does not agree with the Al-Qur’an and As-Sunnah from ancient times until this era. From people who have misguided thoughts can be used as a way to avoid being bound by commands or prohibitions in the Shari’ah.
