PEMIKIRAN KRITIS HASAN HANAFI TERHADAP PEMBAHARUAN HUKUM ISLAM

Abstract

The renewal within the context of Islam begins with analyzing language aspects objectively, eliminating group prejudices and factional interests. This process is then continued by revitalizing the development of knowledge, identifying traces of discovery, the approaches used, and rejuvenating elements of reality that are detrimental and irrelevant to the current conditions. This research aims to analyze the critical thoughts of Hasan Hanafi in his work 'Al-Yasar al-Islami: Kitabat fi an-Nahdah al-Islamiyah' (Islamic Left: Essays on the Islamic Renaissance). Through text content analysis, involving different sources of triangulation such as 'Al-Turath wa al-Tajdid' (Tradition and Renewal), it is found that renewal in Islamic law is a necessity. The Quran was indeed revealed according to the context of that time, then also adjusted to the level of human thought capacity at that time. Therefore, in interpreting it, it is not appropriate to simply adhere to the conditions of that time. Interpretation must be aligned with the present conditions and in line with the level of thinking ability and the advancement of knowledge in the current era.
